Kimbetopsalis Simmonsae, a newly discovered mammal

What happened after the dinosaurs died? What was the world like? What kinds of creatures survived the catastrophe and went on to inherit the earth?

Among the survivors were the crocodiles, who figure prominently in my book Time Trip: A Dinosaur Musical. Now a new scientific discovery has introduced the world to the Kimbetopsalis simmonsae, a small beaver-like rodent that existed alongside the dinosaurs as far back as the Jurassic period. Like the crocodiles, Kimbetopsalis simmonsae would outlast the dinosaurs. But unlike the crocodiles, Kimbetopsalis simmonsae are not with us today.

You can read more about these creatures and the world they lived in here. You can also see a drawing of what they looked like:

If I ever write a sequel to Time Trip, maybe a Kimbetopsalis simmonsae or two will find their way into the story?
